About
Glowdoll is a skincare company that focuses on creating products that are vegan and hydrating, leaving your skin light and refreshing.
Goal
The goal of this project was to design a logo, business card, and package designs for the client’s product that followed the brand’s pre-determined colors and target audience.
Process
Logo Sketch
For the logo, I needed to create a design that would appeal to the target demographic.
I opted for soft round edges and included shapes to achieve this goal. I started with 5 sketches that I presented to the client.
Final Logo
After presenting the sketches to the client, certain elements from the sketches were taken to create the final logo. It has a combination of a few different sketches, along with a single fine line used to outline a face.
Business Card
Next step was to incorporate the logo into a business card. I learned a lot about bleads and saw first-hand why it was important. It was a lot of trial and error to design according to the bleeds, while making sure I highlighted the contact information and the brand's logo.
Box Assets
Aside from the business card being completed in Adobe Photoshop, the product box was also designed in Adobe Photoshop. Only 3 sides needed design done becuase the bottom, back, and one side of the box wouldn't be shown.
Final Product
The final product was compiled in Adobe After Effects. It was a challenge at first to get the lighting perfectly on the box. I wanted to make sure the lighting wasn't a distraction and was used effectively to highlight the product.
The file was then transferred back into Adobe Photoshop. The client wanted the product shown alongside the brand name in a horizontal banner. I made sure to incorporate the brand's name, their catchphrase 'Pure Care, Pure Glow', as well as a short description about the product.
